KS Poodle Skirt - inspirational post

This is the card I made for todays inspirational post.
Using a Karleigh Sue Poodle Skirt digi

For a change I went for a different card shape - a rocker stepper.

I cut my card stock into a circle and scored the center fold, making a stepper in right hand side.

I used my tonic doiley die to cut the background and layered her up on co-ordinating pink/blue papers that were free in a craft magazine.

I coloured her using pro markers in colours to co-ordinate with the papers

skin - apricot, oatmeal, blush
hair - henna, cocoa, cinnamon, tan
skirt - pastel blue, cool aqua, duck egg
t-shirt - cerise, salmon pink
bows - sky blue, azure, true blue

I had fun making this card and hope it inspires you to make and share on Karleigh Sue's challenge blog

kind regards
Theresa

TCCC - RSD - Astro Kid

The theme for this project was 'Create a sky scene'

I chose to use Rick St Dennis Astro Kid

I coloured him with the following;-
skin - Blush Promarker, med flesh polychromo pencil
his suit - Lyra light violet, warn light grey, med grey, violet. Derwent purple, electric blue

I made the stars in Word.

The background I made on white card stock, air sprayed promarkers in the following colours;-
Aubergine, Grey Green, Ice Grey 3, True Blue. Tea Green, Denim Blue, Petrol Blue, Ice Grey 1, midnight blue, mulberry, bluebell.

I layered it up on some blue card stock from my stash.
Covered his helmet in diamond glaze to make it look like glass (it doesnt show well on photo)

I hope this inspires you to create and share.

613AC - #141 Love Me Do

This project uses a Bugaboo digi called Faith block.
The challenge was 'Love Me Do' as it was on September 11th, 1962 The Beatles recorded their 1st single  "love me do"

After watching someone on Create & Craft colouring something red by starting with bright orange I thought I'd give it a go too..  It's supposed to emphasise the redness..

So I used Bright Orange Promarker to colour the roses.
Moss Green Promarker on the stalks and leaves.
Then coloured over the top with Derwent pencils - scarlet, red, deep red, and bright orange on the roses.
Derwent purple on the butterflies.
Faber Castel  light cobalt and turquoise for the background/
Lyra light blue on the background

and Burnt Carmine on the roses.

I layered the image onto red card from my stash and added a couple of butterflies that I found in a toppers box.

I hope this inspires you to share your projects.

Kind regards

KS Inpirational post - Lets Go Team

Todays post uses Karleigh Sues Let Go Team digi

I'm guessing as our artist is American this is aimed at being American football,
But being a Brit I used artistic licence to turn it into a rugby theme.

I used Polychromo pencils.
Shades of blacks and greys for the hair.
Flesh and blush for her skin.
Then shades of orange for her team strip.

The rugby ball is just in light shades of grey.

I found co-ordinating coloured papers in my stash to bring it all together.
Hand cutting a rugby ball shape for an embelishment.

And a peel off Dad that I coloured black with a Sharpie pen.

This is in our favourite rugby league team colours - Castleford Tigers..

Please pop over to Karleigh Sues challenge blog and share your projects.
We love to see what you have made.

kind regards

TTPH - Sept - Zuri - Nadia

This project uses Zuri digi Nidia.

The challenge theme was birthday.

My inspiration for this digi was a part made dream catcher I found in my stash!
Which lead to the greeting.
I added extra beads to the dream catcher to co-ordinate with the colours used on the digi.

I cant find the list of pencils used

(blame my post holiday head!)
But I have started to use Promarkers as a base colour
building up layers with the pencils.
I added some Diamond Glaze to the bubbles to give them a wet look (hasnt come out well on the photo)

I hope this inspires you to use things out of the norm on your projects
Kind Regards

TCCC - All Dressed Up - A Star is Born

This is my first project for this DT..
The challenge theme was monochromatic for a child for National Childhood Awareness week

My recipe for this project is very simple and listed below

Promarkers, dabbed on in the following shades;-
Walnut, Cinnamon, Tan, Satin.
Then dab blender over to get the 'fluffy' effect
and a gold pencil (no make) to colour the stars

I used a 'nesty' type die set (sorry no idea what make it was as out of packaging on magnetic sheets) to cut out the image and a patterned layer that was in my scrap box.
I found a random piece of gold ribbon to layer diagonally.
Used a brown Promarker to outline the edges of both die cut pieces
and another to draw faux stitching around edge of card blank.

I hope this inspires you to share your projects.

Kind regards
Theresa
